A legendary vehicle on the racetrack
The Porsche 917 KH was built in 1969 with the chassis number 917021. The Finnish racing drivers Gijs van Lennep and Hans Laine drove the Porsche to eleventh and fifth place in the World Sports Car Championship in the races in Monza, Italy, and in the 1000 km race at SpaFrancorchamps, which took place on 17 May 1970 at the Circuit de SpaFrancorchamps in Belgium. Just 13 days later, Hans Laine died during training at the German Nürburgring. The Porsche was one of the most successful racing cars in the sports car championships of its time. Even today, it still manages to significantly shape Porsche's image as a sports car.
