Backplane systems are used in servers and enable the easy installation or replacement of hard disks. Due to the plugin technology of hard disk plugin units, the hard disks are integrated into the system via plugin connections and not, as usual, via cable connections. This means that the hard disks can be replaced without tools and very easily, without having to open the server housing. The hotswap technology here additionally enables the exchange and replacement of hard disks during operation.
